Hello everyone,
I installed an incremental encoder on the back of my CNC spindle motor(https://www.oyostepper.es/category-76-b0-Motor-de-husillo-CNC.html), with pins A, A-, B, B-, Z, Z-, powered by 5V.
After soldering it to the controller, the speed readings fluctuate wildly, sometimes even showing negative values. The shielding wire is grounded, and I checked the power supply with an oscilloscope; the ripple isn't too bad.
Is it possible that the differential signal is incompatible with the single-ended input controller? Or do I need to add a converter board?
I asked the encoder manufacturer, and they said to just connect the wires according to the color, but the controller manual is all in Japanese and I can't understand it. Has anyone had experience with this?
Thank you for all your help.
