Imagine someone gives you a blank notebook and asks you to fill it with anything you enjoy. Would you turn it into a sketchbook, a collection of recipes, a travel journal, or a place to capture ideas?
I’d probably make a notebook of things I notice during ordinary days. It could include an interesting quote, a quick drawing, a song recommendation, or a question I want to explore later. There wouldn’t need to be a strict theme.
An empty page can feel intimidating when you expect every entry to be impressive. Starting with something simple, such as a list of five favourite places or a rough sketch of your coffee cup, might make it easier to continue.
For fellow adults exploring InstaCam, this question could be a creative starting point for live video chat. Someone’s choice might lead to a discussion about cooking, writing, drawing, or hobbies they would like to try.
You could follow up by asking, “What would go on the first page?” Share your own idea too, and take an interest in different answers. A carefully organised reading journal and a notebook full of spontaneous doodles can be equally enjoyable.
I also like the idea of leaving a few pages for recommendations from other people. Over time, those suggestions could become a collection of books, activities, and recipes to explore.
What would your notebook become? Give it a title and describe the first three things you would put inside.
