i want to insert a value to a database, but i don't want to display this value to the user.
example cat be time_inserted for faq (set by sqlw), or user_id in articles (set by default). in both cases i don't want the user to modify or even see these values.
what's correct options ? my experimenting ended without success

I was trying to reach the same functionality, but even with 'R' option it does not work. The only workaround I found was using css postfix:
$opts['fdd']['field']['css|A']['postfix'] = 'hide';
and tr.pme-row-0-hide {display: none}
Now I can insert default values without showing it to user.

I think 'H' should do what you want. If not, this is a bug.

Default value is not inserted when 'H' is set.

Hmm, I will give it a try.
But I remember that 'HAP' was working in an earlier.
