Calendar pop-up for date/time fields |
|
Popis:
|
I have created an extension class for a calendar popup button based on jsCalendar. This allows you to set a 'calendar' option against a field. A button is then displayed in the add/change record views that pops up a the jsCalendar allowing the user to select the date and/or time graphically. If you are interested, let me know and I'll package it and upload. |

Dalšie informácie:
|
Basic usage:
$opts['fdd']['web']['calendar'] = true
Advanced usage:
$opts['fdd']['web']['calendar'] = array(
'opt1' => 'val1',
'opt2' => 'val2');
where opt1, opt2 etc are jsCalendar options that are passed through.

Feel free to upload your extension. I would like to see it.
If it is good, I can add it to CVS repository. |

I've attached two files. The first is the extension itself. I think that it's pretty self documenting - let me know if you need to know more about anything.
For reference I've also attached the latest version of jsCalendar. |

During vacation I tested your extension. It does not work for me (at least in browsers Opera and Mozilla). I found, that input field has to have an ID (in addition to name). In Calendar's JavaScript code an input field is identified according to its ID, not name.
Thus I altered class in this way. I also made som other minor modifications. Extension was added into repository. I will welcome if you could test, if that works well for you (like your original entension). Thanks. |

Sorry you had to debug it like that. I'm guilty of only testing it on IE, and it did work. In fact in my original code I did set the the ID tag to the same as the NAME tag, I then noticed that it still worked if I removed the ID tag - that must be an IE unique. Hopefully I'll get a chance to test your version in the next couple of days. I've actually just switched from IE to Mozilla Firebird so I guess that I'd have noticed this pretty soonish.
One point re the 'label' parameter that you've put in. Firstly, would you mind updating the comments at the top to document it. Secondly, that way that it's written at the moment, 'label' is going to get passed to jsCalendar as part of the setup. I don't think that this is a problem at present as it will be ignored, but it might be a problem later if jsCalendar were to introduce 'label' as a parameter. What do you think?

I have just added CalPopup extension into documentation.
Concerning to your previous post, extension does properly work for you? What do you recommend as a solution for the 'label' issue? |

I'm working on a change that would solve the label problem and also the potential problem that users could override important options for jsCalendar and break it.
I'll post it in the next couple of days. |

Fine. Please use recent CVS for patch. |
